Welcome to Ayton Primary School!
My name is Tracey and I am currently the Chair of Ayton Primary School’s Parent Council. The Parent Council is a group of parents elected by members of the Parent Forum (all parents of pupils at the school are automatically members of the Forum) to represent all the parents of children at the school.
Our Parent Council is known as ‘Friends of Ayton Primary School’, and as such we play a central role in helping the school to achieve what we want for all of the children in our care. We are actively involved in:
We hold regular meetings; approximately four a year (one each term). Our meeting times are advertised through our school newsletter and on the school website. Everyone is very welcome to attend – you don’t have to be a member of the Parent Council to come along. These meetings are very informal and friendly. Anyone can raise an issue for the Parent Council. Please contact one of the members if you would like to discuss any aspect of school. We are always looking for new ways to communicate with parents and come up with new ideas, so please get in touch.

The Parent Council aim to fundraise throughout the year to support the school and purchase items and support costs of items that will enrich the school for all. The Parent Council have supported the school over many years by raising funds and we are currently planning a bag pack and completing funding applications to fund an audio visual system for the school hall which is very much needed and will be of enormous benefit to all our pupils.
If anyone has any ideas for fundraising please share your ideas with us! We are aiming to put together an annual calendar of events for people to be involved in (aiming for one event/activity a term).

Easy Fundraising is an easy and free way to raise money for the school, through your normal online shopping, without having to spend a penny extra. Pretty much every major online retailer has signed up, and as long as you install the Find and Remind function, all you have to do is click on a button and they will donate a percentage of the money you spend to the school.
Once you’ve signed up, the website will prompt you to install the Find and Remind function. After you’ve done that, whenever you visit a website that has signed up, a reminder will pop up at the top of the screen, you click a button, and a portion of the money you spend online will be donated to the school. So far we have raised £160, at no cost to parents. Some of the websites taking part include Tesco, ASDA, Amazon, eBay, Next, M&S and Toys R Us. Please take the 2 or 3 minutes to sign up, and your Christmas shopping could help pay for class trips, music and sports equipment, or new books for the school library.
Did you know the Parent Council have a stock of gently used uniform which is sold to raise funds for the school? Naomi White is currently taking care of all the uniforms handed in and they are laundered, packed for convenience and available to purchase in the school foyer area at all times.
How to Donate: Donations of clean, outgrown uniform items are appreciated. Donations should be handed in at the school office marked clearly for the attention for Parent Council or passed to any of the committee members.
